When you buy the .99 cent special you shouldn't expect a full course meal and An Introduction to DSLR Photography book did not violate that logic. The only thing remotely impressive about this book is the picture of the awesome camera on the cover. The book barely touched in depth on the basics of DSLR photography. This book merely mentions ISO, Shutter and Lens it is not long on explaining how they work together to take great pictures.This book was meant to tell you just enough about photography to create the firtile ground from which intelligent questions can form. This book fails to even till the soil of firtile photographic imagination. This book confuses far more than it illuminates. Granted for just under a dollar one should not expect much but one should expect something of value which sadly this An Introduction to DSLR Photography book fails to deliver.
I did not expect much from An Introduction to DSLR Photography but, I was shocked at how little new photographic understanding I got from this book.

Good stuff if you want to go just beyond your owners manual. So much on this subject around that it's hard to pick what to get. This was good for me.

This book is short but very useful for the beginner enthusiast. Explanations of the fundamental terms are clear. The author gives you the reasons behind the decisions you may need to make to produce pictures that are better quality than you take now. In my opinion this is good reading whether you've made the step into dSLR, or have your first point-n-shoot camera.
This is a 30,000 ft generic overview. No specific techniques or instructions. Completely ignores aperture. Look elsewhere for specific instructions.
